*Warning - Semi nakey lady in video!*

A little more risque than normal, here is the video for Sixx AM's "Pray For Me" taken from their 2007 debut album "The Heroin Diaries".

The hard rockers from LA are comprised of Motley Crue bass player Nikki Sixx, current Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba and esteemed American producer, song writer and singer, James Michael.

DOUBLE EDGED SWORD FOR HARPERLY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Harperly Music Festival experienced mixed success this past Saturday 17th July 2010 with the annual music event taking place to raise funds for Cancer Research UK at Pea Farm near Stanley, Co. Durham.

Seven bands (Axis, Free & Co, Mojo Hand Band, Spartan, Joy Circuit, Doctor Dot and The Guvnor) all took the stage supported by a healthy crowd in the specially erected marquee to help organisers raise both money and awareness for the Cancer Research UK charity.

Our very own Big Bear endured the bumpy track into the farm area to show his support to the event and was full of praise for the way the music festival was run. As always Big Bear enjoyed the musical talent on show reserving special mention for Leeds based Ska band Doctor Dot who managed to win over a new fan in the normally Ska fearing Zoo resident.

The event was a huge success musically with healthy support, top music and money raised for a very worth cause.

It was, however, to prove to be a double edged sword for organisers as despite success of the event itself a few mindless idiots took it upon themselves to rip huge holes in the marquee and set hired-in portaloo's on fire resulting in costly damage.

It's a shame the actions of a minority spoiled what had been another tremendous music festival and it is those actions which have now put next years event in doubt.

If you wish to show your support for the event to take place again next year, why not contact us here at Music Zoo and let us know your thoughts and we will pass on comments to the organisers on your behalf. It would be a crying shame to lose such a great event.

MUSIC ZOO TEAM CAUGHT WITH STICKY FINGERS AT THE FAT OX

The Music Zoo Team had a superb night of old school metal with Sticky Fingers last Friday night as the band played to a jam packed Fat Ox in Whitley Bay.

Mark, the two Phil's and Keith were in fine form as is the norm for these hard rocking brothers in arms.

It had been too long since we had last caught a Sticky Fingers gig so we are pleased to report that the lads haven't lost any of their ability to put on a cracking set and entertain the masses crammed into the Fat Ox.

Covering tunes by Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen and Queen coated with the Sticky Fingers formula for turning things up to full blast, these guys are one of the loudest and most impressive bands you will see in the North East.

Great set list, great vocals, great sound and an amazing guitarist who can create noises from his six string like no other, Sticky Fingers certainly provided great Friday night entertainment.

Top gig lads!

Band: -  ALCATRAZ HOUSE BAND 9pm

Another top band head to the "Rock of the North" this Friday as Jen and the lads make the journey to home of "The Herd".

Whether you have seen these guys (and gal) in action under the Remedy or Alcatraz House Band name, your sure to have on hell of a good time with one of the most talented acts around.

Having toured nationally and supported many bigger artists at the O2 Academy in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne there is no doubt that Jen's amazing vocals and the bands tight sound and quality add up to a combination that could really go places.
